I was trying to post a negative review on a seller and it got decline. Here is that the said.
Walmart seems to be more helpful w/ dealing with 3 party sellers.

Hello Speedy,

We couldn't post your review because it focuses on one or more of these topics:

  • Sellers
  • Delivery
  • Packaging
  • Pricing
  • Availability

Why isn't that allowed?
These aspects vary by order and won't be relevant to all customers. That said, we want your orders just not in product reviews.

Please edit and resubmit your review. Before you do, make sure it meets all of our community guidelines

I never received the item and would probably be eating the cost. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SELLER

I generally don't write reviews. Not sure what is up here.

I recall not getting something recently, and was able to get a refund. Did you go down the path of stating that it was never received? Vendor and shipping woes are two separate things. Maybe it rejects reviews that are not due to the vendor but due to shipping company.

Both Amazon and Walmart have started to make it impossible to do anything besides leave a positive review. I had a few issues with buying things online from WalMart that either never shipped or shipped and I never received them. What a nightmare, customer service basically sends you in circles and refers you to look at what your current order status is. The items are technically "in-transit" since the status is never updated to delivered I had no recourse, yet they still charged me. I ended up doing a charge back on my card and swore off WalMart online.

Yup. You can only review the product. You're going to be our customer and you're going to like it.

So if there are multiple amazon sellers of a particular fleetguard fuel filter, some legit, some selling counterfeits, you can't weed out the good from the bad.

I contact the seller several times and just eat the cost. Live and learned such is life.
why not dispute the CC charge?
or use the amazon A to Z guarantee for refund.
you dont have to deal with the seller.
1-888-280-4331 amazon customer service.

Also did you leave your review on the seller or the product?

While annoying this issue/rant seems mostly a problem of ignorance and user error..

It sounds to me like the businesses don't want bad reviews=go figure.

It is a lie, and all lies exact a fee. At some point that fee has to be paid.

This Amazon example is a shallow one, but I think this way of doing business\way of thinking is dangerous in the long run.

"INGSOC" type thing, or Citizen X type thing.

My experience with Amazon is they don't allow critical reviews. So I have stopped all product reviews with them.
they also dont allow you to leave seller reviews in product reviews.. which is why I asked the OP that question.
There is a different place to leave seller reviews.

If you buy something and don't receive it you do not have to pay for it. Simple stuff.
I leave a lot of reviews. I have noticed Amazon will now reject reviews if it isnt solely a review on the product. I got my first rejection. I cant remember exactly what it was but it wasnt something encompassing the whole review. I was surprised.

I might have made a comment that you need to pay return shipping or something like that.

I THINK I understand why though. Because multiple sellers sell the same product, so Amazon wants only the product reviewed. Kind of makes sense to me now.

Was it shipped and lost by the carrier, or not shipped at all?

If not shipped at all then your product review would be something like " I would have loved to review this product but it was never shipped."

Or leave feedback on the seller profile.

I've posted some pretty bad reviews, they've all been posted. I've also had sellers try to bribe me to change reviews.
I've also had total refunds due to some of the reviews I've left, especially ones with pictures to verify.

I remember a case where the seller claimed pricing was wrong so he cancelled all orders including mine. Tons of negative reviews poured in and then suddenly tons of positive reviews. It felt like a circus. Don’t get me wrong I own Amazon stock and am a prime member. But I think their days of wine and roses are well in the rearview

I find Amazon is pretty uncompetitive here in canada, Canadian Tire has better QC of their chinese stuff/junk, similar or better prices, and I can return it easily if there's problem. Also they have store inventory online that is current! So if I really need something today(like a car part) I can find which store has one in stock.
I don't buy much from Amazon anymore, the small savings is lost when there is an issue with the items....

I do t have a lot of luck with Canadian Tire. They rarely seem to have what I need. Inventory is not accurate at the store I go to.

Not just Amazon. I bought a medicine cabinet from Home Depot. One of the door springs snapped out and almost took out my eye. I posted a review on the product giving a frank but not nasty review. They refused to show it. They said that the review did not meet their standards.

I also bought some chicken coop accys from a seller who had great reviews. The stuff was total junk and misrepresented. I wrote a review repeatedly and they refused to post it without any explanation. No wonder only great reviews.

I have learned that online reviews are generally tilted in the sellers favor.

When reviewing a delivered item, I will also credit the fast and efficient turn-around if relevant. Far as I am aware these "positive" comments have been posted. Will make a note to check if a delivery issue was the reason for a less than favorable review and if it was posted.

VERY disappointing to read that negative reviews are being filtered out by many (some?) retailers. In making a purchasing decision I first read the negative reviews to identify where the issue is. Sometimes it is obviously user error or unrealistic expectations, but other times the problems encountered are very helpful in setting an expectation and potentially developing a work around before finalizing a purchasing decision. For questionable sources I will also use PayPal as a second line of defense. Very useful!
