Amazon Cell Phone Rebates

If you're on the market for a new cell phone, be weary of buying cell phones from Amazon that offer a rebate. The rebate submission company they work with has lost my rebate form ($250) three times and hasn't responded to any of my emails seeking confirmation after I faxed and sent another hard copy in (total of 5 submissions). One of my friends had to wait six months for his rebate after resubmitting his rebate only once. I looked up the rebate submission company, CPG, and it seems that they have a lot of problems fulfilling mail-in-rebates.

Just a quick heads up for anyone on the market. I wouldn't buy from them again.

That's not uncommon for any rebate-somewhere around 30-50% don't get refunded either because the paperwork was lost or "incomplete". I can't put my hands on the article right now, but speculation was much of the "lost" paperwork or "incomplete" claims were bogus, and done to avoid filling the rebate.
