I picked up some amalie elixir gf-5 5w-30 synthetic from AAP for a buck a quart . Would this be ok too run in my wrangler 3.6 or my tacoma 2.4 ?

Amalie has been around a very long time. My dad was born in 1925 and mentioned he used that brand many years ago

I believe Amalie got swallowed up by a larger company( Phillips 66?) years ago.

There still private, AFAIK? They still have a terminal here on the Cooper River - but I think they got it through acquisition of someone else. Its sitting on some very expensive real estate, but I drive by occasionally and they seem to still be operating.

Isn’t Amalie owned by a company in Tampa Bay? I want to say theyre used to sponsor the Buccaneers stadium.

I’ve used it before - the garage I used to work at carried it exclusively - never an issue with my own personal cars or customers. Then again, ost any oil nowadays is not going to give you an issue.

I think O’Reilly’s house brand oil is Amalie. Nothing wrong with it. Probably similar to Supertech/Kirkland.

Fram oil was at one point also Amalie, iirc, not sure if it still is.

I agree that it's fine for your application. I recall many years ago that Paul Harvey advertised it on his programs and I don't think he would do that if he didn't really believe in it himself.
