Got new house insurance ( a refurb I did)
Price was right and I shop around often.
The house is in showroom condition in and out. So????????????

To seal the deal the agent lied. I knew it instantly.

Every time I get new insurance they do a complete in and out inspection- no big deal here.
But they know to many people it is.
So I asked the insurance guy when I was buying the policy if he was going to come out and do the full inspection?
He said, oh no we no longer do that. we will just have a guy come out and take a few quick outside only pictures and you don't
have to be home or notified. It's that easy he said.

Two weeks later I start getting calls for the full home inspection- lol
They are pounding me daily as I won't answer the phone. The house is sparkling clean and vacant but since they lied
I'm ignoring them. And I really don't care if they cancel the policy. I don't like liars.
Am I a bad guy?

People get so emotional thinking a corporation cares or thinks that way.

They don't. They don't see you as bad or good just non-compliant with a request so they follow the process of likely cancelling you.

Business is not emotional.

That is not a lie, that a miscommunication. I wouldn't be upset about that. I've had really killer issues to get upset about.

Ive been upset when State Farm was poking around my property without notice and then they sent me a recommendation list of repairs refurbishments! I guess they got a lot of blow back on that so they discontinued that practice immediately.

It doesn't bother me but knowing the tricks of the trade most women freak with a home inspection and they know it.
So I don't believe it was a miscommunication.

That said, my properties are inspection ready and that doesn't bother me. Now in your case I have heard that before as well.

That is a business killer!

I do play the one and two year intro deals with home insurance to get the best deal.
But honestly they always inspect all my places. I don't know if it goes by a $$$ amount or if its
just universal. Maybe an agent will chime in.

Now I did get upset last year when and inspector stood me up three times.
I called and told the company he isn't invited here and I said to send somebody else out- they did and it was
the guys son- true story. The son told me his father was a load. ( true)

Dude, you gotta correct the salesmen and put them in their place. I love challenging what salesmen say when you can tell they have already spent their commission. If you want to take the moral high ground, you have to be tough enough to tell someone what they do not want to hear without hesitation or trying to play games with them.

Right- they are pounding my business number now- I'm picking up now and they will get a polite direct reaming.
I like doing that if it's justified. But at the end of the day it really means little... lol
But you are right- they are scammers- tell you anything to get the cash!

What a crybaby. Guy made a mistake (or lied, doesn't matter.)

Do you want the insurance or not? Answer the phone and comply or call and cancel. Either way, get over yourself.

Our recent homeowners insurance inspection was a drive by for the most part. The agent did call to get more info on the breaker panel which was satisfied with a photo emailed to him.

It’s not worth getting all frazzled over.

Lay a Fram ultra on the front porch. They’ll know to stay away!

No really, don’t lose any sleep over a business. Where one dumps you, three more are there to pick you up.

Good for you! Time is money for them. Miscommunication? Perhaps? Not much integrity when dealing with insurance companies or corporations. They only see profit margins. There are exceptions.

Respectfully,

Pajero!

Keep in mind that if your current insurance carriers cancels your policy or non-renews due to non-compliance, it can be significantly more difficult to remarket your account with a different carrier.

It is in your best interest to cooperate with the insurance carrier. If you dislike your agent, find another agent and have them BOR the business.

The wife gets hung up on stuff like this. He was not lying it was apathy or incompetence. You need to face the fact that a good percentage of everyone you meet every day that perform services either don't really take pride in or don't know what their doing in their job. And from that same group it is not them that need to get it together but you that are being too demanding and inflexible. You're probably mean also and want a dirty planet.

I spend 20% of my day ignoring this flotsam of people and cleaning up after them which is what the wife has issue with.

Yeah, his main mistake is thinking that the agent is a employee of the insurance company and is familiar with all their policies and procedures. Maybe they didn't use to in the past, maybe it's that particular area, maybe it's some random audit, who knows, or maybe just plain incompetence. But they're just a rep and they don't control the insurance company. I actually see this all the time with mortgage brokers, they promise they can always do it. The good ones check with their underwriters and others to make sure they can, the bad ones just say yes and when the deal falls apart, they just say "sorry about that". They're just the rep, they don't control or have any say in what happens in the back office. The OP is basically clueless on how the real world works.

Glad you feel better about yourself now. Good for you!
Let me guess, you're also a bottom feeder!
