Boy, I tell you, that would be a rough split second decision if it would have been me and my daughter in the car. I probably would have told my daughter to get down in the floorboard, pulled out my 9mm while behind my car door and yell very loudly at him to back up, about the way you did it, but I'd have my weapon drawned, chambered, safety off and pointed towards him. There is just too much craziness out there. If he would have backed off, I would have secured my weapon and just watch and see what he does and call the police just for making a police report and to have that incident on file should he return. Guns keep honest people honest.

Many years ago my dad ended up in a short stand-off with a dope head that was coming across the street towards our property while his friends beat the snot out of one of the neighbors. My dad fired once in the air and the other guy fled. The OKC detective that took the report said, "Next time do us all a favor and skip the warning shot."

As to the OP, I hope you got a report filed. This guy is a nut and if it's the first time, it won't be the last.

I would have shot his kneecaps out the first step he made on my lawn wielding a gun maniacally.

I understand the horrible stresses a person can be going through...but seriously? He sounds like a kook to me.
