If the SM refused to provide this service, which is reasonable then I agree he should call Honda and let them know about the issue.
There have been NUMEROUS threads concerning the shortsighted, and many times obnoxious attitude towards customers when it comes to $tealerships, yet these places NEVER seem to change their ways, and whine like spoiled brats about the poor reputation they receive from the general public. Fact is they EARN that reputation, it is well deserved.
Good question. Originally I was going to just let it go but when people started posting how the Dealership should cover this, I called the Service department - got the first girl - told her my problem and asked for a free alignment, got transferred to another older woman who seemed to know a bit more - told her my problem and asked for a free alignment. She said she didn't think so but she'd ask the manager. After a good few minutes she came back on the line saying: "We'll gladly check it for free." I asked, "So, I'd have to pay for it if the alignment is out?" She said: "Yep sorry." I canceled my appointment and made an appointment at Bob's Tire and never regretted it.
I mean, I understand. I have 7,000 miles on my Honda. I know I didn't hit anything but they don't know that. I can understand why they wouldn't want to offer it for free. I got much better service at Bob's Tire and will be going back there for all my tire/wheel service needs. The $tealership is just too expensive and they don't seem to care tho they try on the surface.
I mean really? $80 Full Synthetic oil changes. $89 cabin filter replacement. $40 engine air filter replacement. And that's just the start. Who can afford to have the $tealer do their vehicle work?
