Tacky grease is the only thing that will stay in place and actually continue working for an extended period of time. Don't put too much, whatever that may be, or you are going to get the excess sucked into the combustion chamber.
The best solution is still to find something that doesn't need to be "fixed" just to make it work like it should in the first place.
