Air compressor intake filter?

Noticed my compressor filter is looking pretty rough. The craptastic plastic box doesn’t even close anymore. Any suggestions for a good (ie: adequate filtration and best noise reduction) replacement? The intake does appear threaded but I haven’t measured- is there a standard?

I also want to replace the gauges and regulators. Amazon has some options but they aren’t dirt cheap. Is there a sweet spot in price to quality ratio?

On my compressor the threads are is pipe thread. I used water pipe and made a base for the filter and a through rod and use a Donaldson filter I picked up from work. The oil seems to stay cleaner.
