I just realized they didn't have i-Eloop in 2013 so your factory Panasonic isn't an AGM.

As far as gel, yes, agree on that but took it for granted Gel would be prominently displayed on the battery. The reason of my post was the loose word for sealed vs. AGM. I always took a completely sealed unvented battery for AGM as I thought impossible to have a flooded cell battery unvented.
so yeah i ran into this in the world of volvo. S60s put them in the trunk, and the oem spec is flooded. So on one side of the battery "lid" there would be a 1/4" hole in which you'd stick this breather hose into, and it would carry any gases outside the trunk. If it wasn't an S60 size (there were 3 options since these do police duty overseas) the battery wouldn't have that controlled opening, so obviously not all batteries control the venting. the little hole was there on flooded batteries, and I *think* I saw it there on the AGMs too. My daughter has the S60 2 states away or else I'd go out and check.
Based on your handle I'm betting you deal with a ton of AGMs and gels in your line of work. I'd heard the same before - that like pretty much all of the 12A7s, etc., are agm now. I've never cut one open to look.

My AGM battery has the vent tube on it. But it is sealed in the sense that you can't add water to it. I'll have to double check mine, I think it just had a birthday, 12 years now.

I've definitely seen them yes. I don't recall when and it could have been decades ago.
