Lots of s**tposting on this thread. I worked on VW, Porsche, and Audi for more than a decade. Anything can be fixed. Like others have said, do your research, make sure you have a good mechanic (maybe yourself, but be prepared to buy specialty tools), and at least read the enthusiast forums.
If you want an older Porsche, you will never be happy with some crappy bargain bin car, especially another make. And only buy something you totally love, that's literally the whole point. For me, that would be a manual, nonturbo 911 from 1968 to 1990. It would not be a daily driver though. For that, I would lease a new one.
