Advance Auto Parts to close 700+ stores.

My small mountain town Advance is closing. I was there today, everything 40-60% off with the exception of batteries. Got a few things, I might go back tomorrow, there are some good deals especially on chemicals. It's too bad, because they had the most knowledgeable crew in town. I still have a NAPA, Zone, And O'Reilly's, so it's not like I'm going without a place to go, I just liked the people at the Advance the best.

I have only seen the signs at a distant AAP.

Thus far even though 100+ are to be closed in Wisconsin none of the local ones seem to have signs up.

Many AAPs are honestly newly built under 4 years old though every town has a store that looks 100+

I might have to go inside to see if there is clearance despite the lack of signage

I wish there was a list of the locations! I'd probably be willing to take a road trip to stock up on some stuff! I haven't heard about any closing locally to me in MA...or even New England for that matter.
I have tried looking for the same info multiple times and it seems Advance Auto is not releasing any master list of specific store details of which ones are closing other than the blanket pull out on the West Coast.

They let me wander the back of the store today. I'm not sure if it was good or bad, lol, but I bought all their engine circulation block heaters and a magnetic heater at 80% off, plug bought the remainder of their Tru Fuel at $3/can. Unfortunately they sent most of their things like starters/alternators/PS pumps etc to another store already.

It seems the one in Pagosa is sticking around, which kinda surprised me. It was a CQ so I don't know if that affects things.

Then again, Pagosa's NAPA closed years ago and the ONLY other option is an O'Reilly.

almost sounds like they're not trying to offer many people a deal.. do they get better profit from dumping it to a clearance wholesaler? is ollie's buying up their left over stock?
Yeah it honestly sucks, an official announcement says 6 Milwaukee stores will close but I personally have encountered 6 others, several of which aren’t mentioned online even if you search.

The stores I’ve encountered close the 27th

I was hoping to find stores that accidentally have parts in stock for my 2001 Dodge Ram, 2010 Cobalt, and 2000 Insight but searching for crud in the racks behind the counter at a store going under is hit or miss even physically there. Bleh

I’ve hit the goldmine for two cars and that’s about it. Brakes for an old Explorer, hubs for the Prius.

I found 1 lower control arm, 1 steering gear , 1 belt , a pair of shocks and the front struts.

Wish front end kits were still a thing but nope.

Was hoping to get all the front end parts and hoses/brakes / filters.

I’m driving to several of the bankrupt stores tomorrow (would have gone tonight but they have super reduced hours)

If you do your homework with looking up your own part numbers, instead of asking the counter guy who frankly doesn't give a hoot anymore, I've been cleaning up on parts for all my cars. 95% off on everything behind the counter has been amazing.

Got all of the front suspension parts and most of the rear including brakes and rotors from a few of the closing Advance Auto stores. Been installing them this week and the parts have been awesome in fit and finish! It's a shame they're going to close as they had good deals and coupons all the time :(

How? Website is useless.
Nothing for my 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 2wd 5.2 v8 shows up. They don’t even show unit bearings / hubs for the truck. I need control arms, tie rods, steering components, torsion/ sway bar. Even the idler doesn’t show up in stock anywhere but at least got a belt.

All I can find are a few ball joints , some clips and a steering gear.

Interesting, all my vehicle parts are still listed and showing in or out of stock. I even got parts for my 78 K20 plow truck.

Control arms are only listed under certain brands and appear to be out of stock everywhere.

The correct front hubs/unit bearings weren’t listed for my truck. Had press ons listed, lol.

I was going to pick up a $5 steering gear preemptively but they wanted a $200 core charge, feels like something easy to mess up so I passed

I've not picked up a few things that still have a core charge, and yes, they are still collecting it.
