You may remember Penny our foster-fail rescue dog that had meningitis when we first got her. For my birthday I was given a dog DNA test kit and the results came back. Let's see some guesses on what she is. She weighs 39 lbs and she has a bit of a delicate build. It lists 5 breeds.

Here it is. Hard to believe. Rez dogs usually have pit bull and German Shepard and lots of times some Chihuahua then most anything else. The brindle in the spots could be Boxer, the curled tail Chow Chow maybe. Her size is the puzzler, none of these are normally her size, female Huskys maybe.

I say Mutt, and not to be derrogatory.
4 of the 5 dogs I have shared my life with have been mutts.
The overwhelming majority of the dogs we fostered (55+) were mutts. Most were terrific dogs.
#5 a Chihuahua with papers was mostly a little S**t.

All dogs regardless of their ancestory have a personality, and that is what is important.
What you as their pack leader make of the rest of it is up to you.

Blue healer, cattle dog, the ears hmmm. Doberman? A hint of Jack Russell terrier?

Ahh yeah boxer with the ears. How do you get a mix of five dog breeds? Quite the dod family.

Funny - I was going to say she had a little Chihuahua in her. And yeah, would not have guessed Chow.

Mutts are genetically diverse and hence superior.
