Instead of doing the one bottle per 3k or whatever, is it safe to say that you could add a little every fill up for the same or better results?

I'm talking Regane, Techron, MMO, etc

That is what I do with FP60; Don't need to "shock" anything if there is nothing to shock.... 1oz/10gal virtually every fillup.

Same results? No. Better results? Also no.

You'll be adding so little that it won't have any appreciable concentration to do anything. To be totally honest, even at full concentration to a tank of fuel, the overall 'strength' of cleaners is rather low compared to say, on-rail injector cleaning.

You're not 'shocking' anything or doing anything better by ignoring the instructions. Use it properly.

I'll usually wait till my tank is near empty right before oil change and then add the bottle, drive out the gas, then change oil and refill the tank.Whether it works or not I really don't know.

I put about an ounce of some 8 year old 2 stroke mix in every fillup (about 10 gallons). I am hoping there is a little benefit, but really I am trying to get rid of this stuff. Only a quart left.

Maintenance dosing is a better approach. Just more inconvenient.

However, dosing in one go comes very close if the interval is 3000 miles and if you use gas with low levels of detergent.

Shock dosing is a fallacy. Another made up concept which would not exist if a) you just trusted the manufacturer or b) you just read the original Chevron study

Major manufacturers recommend and even resell Techron. Mercedes authorize it's use where quality gasoline is not used.
