Accidentally added an oz off oil in the transmission and I have not started up since then. Am I fine or change the fuilds?

Probably should drain it to be on the safe side

Manual trans? Not likely to be the end of the world, but better safe than sorry

Manual?
No worries.
Automatic?
No worries either since the fill capacity is so large that the dilution factor makes an ounce of any motor oil irrelevant.

This 100% why did you add an oz?

not worth worrying about.
i once dumped a pint of 15w40 into a 700r4 by grabbing the wrong bottle.
made absolutely no difference.
it was due for a drain and fill so 2 weeks later i did 2.
probably a waste of fluid but sams club dex/merc is cheap.
i have seen racers run 5w30 in these with no ill effects.

I'm going to disagree, if it's an auto I would think motor oil (even just an ounce) would wreck havoc on the clutch packs.

I'm sorry, auto 5spd 2002 Honda Odyssey, I accidentally added to the ransmission instead of adding it to the engine, made an mistake.

We had an old Chevy with powerglide 2 speed, and got stuck out at the farm with only motor oil.

We topped it off with about a quart or so to get the torque converter to pull.

Sometimes MO can be the ATF, so don't sweat it.

Watch for foaming, color change, and funny shifts.

I don't see how a few ozs could hurt ever.

Well, an '02 is one of the trouble-prone years for the Ody transaxle.
If yours has been okay then an ounce of motor oil won't change that.
Your opening post does smell a little funny though.
How could anyone mistake the hard to get to tranny fill port with its dipstick plug with that for the engine sitting right atop a cam cover?
