I have a 2oo8 zo6. it has the noisy ls7 and I switched to rl and the engine is much quieter. I want to see if this will help even more??

I wouldn’t add anything to Redline. I think bio-tech is an Ester based moly additive which is what redline has already. I’d add BT to an oil that was lacking both, like an HDEO.

Just some questions to help you with your decision:

1. what is the Source of the noise in this engine? Do you really know?

2. what chemistry in the BioTech will pinpoint or remove this noise?

3. you already have one variable in this equation. Do you think adding another will help?

Don't homeblend, different additives may not play nicely with each other. Why not step up to Redline 0W40, I'm assuming when you say noisy its lifter and rocker noise that LS engines are known for. Or hit up one of the many Corvette forums and see what those guys are doing

Did this Vette by chance start its life on the beloved "GM says to use Mobil 1 only"???

That's where your noise came from... go to any other quality oil and it will get noticeably quieter.

Is the hemp tick a valve train noise? Or a bearing or rotating component? Does it sound like excessive lash or what?

I wouldn't call it 'necessary', but if you want to one-up yourself, then forget the additive and go with a majority-ester blend oil. Don't get me wrong, I think LG Bio-Tech is probably at the top, but car engine longevity is truly a tribologist's game.

it is just the regular sewing machine noise. i put in redline 5-w30 about 3-400 miles ago. it is defenatly quieter . weird thing though it seems to get quieter when the oil gets to 160 or so.

That might be because the high levels of moly and ZDDP in their oils are activated by and with heat.
