I'm always surprised at the number of men that drop dead of heart attacks in their early-mid 50's. I've known 4 guys who, before the age of 55, had sudden, drop dead heart attacks. A high profile early death should be a wake up call for a lot of folks to make sure they maintain their health.

Honestly it doesn't seem to matter. I know a guy who was 32 a health nut who was playing with his kids, stopped to have a glass of iced tea and dropped dead.
Another 35 years old health nut died while riding his bicycle, they said he was dead before he hit the ground.
Jim Fixx author of the book of running and a health nut, they found him dead in the bushes after he fell out.

Death happens to the best of us at some point or another.

you'd have to be a complete idiot to just ignore your health though. jim fixx was a runner because his father died at age 43. Jim fixx lived to be 52 after dropping 60 pounds and quitting smoking. nice try though.

"Fixx started running in 1967 at age 35. He weighed 240 pounds (110 kg) and smoked two packs of cigarettes per day. Ten years later, when his book, The Complete Book of Running (which spent 11 weeks at No. 1 on the best-seller list) was published, he was 60 pounds (27 kg) lighter and smoke-free. In his books and on television talk shows, he extolled the benefits of physical exercise and how it considerably increased the average life expectancy."

^^^THIS!!!

And NOT just the neighborhoods, but also the stereotype that EVERYONE from 'Joyzee' was just like him, and the other characters on that show (AND Jersey Shore for that matter as well

).

I, and most of those I know from my home state (including those of Italian descent) are about as far from that "hey Tony"/'T' stereotype as one could get.

Also, for those 'out there in the middle' watching this show, who have no other reference, the WHOLE state is NOT like they depict in the opening/intro with him driving the northeastern corridor/I-95/Route 1-9/etc., once one gets even a little west, north, or south (until you hit the ghettos of Trenton/Camden).

I feel your pain bro - try growing in the south and constantly hearing from your northern neighbors how all people from the south marry their cousins, walk around with no shoes, drive huge four wheel drive trucks and shoot anything that moves and then cook it for dinner.

They should have did a stress test at least. A CT angiogram would have found the problem, he needed cardiac stents. But your friend was 36 years old and likely the doctor saw him as low risk, guys don't have heart attacks in their 30s the doctor probably thought. I had the unfortunate losing most of my right lung at age 33, the PCP was going to send me home with antibiotics after looking at my chest x-ray. chest x-rays are old technology. if he didn't order a CT scan with contrast, he would have never saw my lung mass. insurance companies want to use the cheap 50 dollar chest x-ray instead of CT 1000 dollar tests. but better safe than sorry
