The pickup truck 5.3L have the Aluminum block. Glad to hear you don't have any engine noise troubles. I know some that do on their trucks. If I can get regular non-ecore PF48s I will stick with those. Otherwise it will be Mobil1, K&N, or Royal Purple at 2OCI intervals for me.

No. All Yukons and Yukon XL's come with the 5.3. The Yukon DENALI versions have the 6.2. Only the 3/4 ton Yukon XL has the 6.0L.

All Tahoes and Suburbans have the 5.3. Only 3/4 ton Suburban gets the 6.0L

All Escalades get the 6.2 and all Hybrid (Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade) get a special 6.0L.

ALSO - depending on how your SUV is equipped you will get the iron or alum block engine. We put both in them..same with pickups.

** I am referring to 2007-2013 models but the same is true for prior models except the 6.2 was a 6.0 then and the 4.8 was available too.

I've posted before about AC Delcos. I stopped using them after 2 failures. No more Delcos for me. Been 3 years since those 2 failures and every filter BEFORE and AFTER the delcos have performed flawlessly.

I never thought at the time to check. Here is the short version...Towing RV in a trip, 1500 miles on oil change. Pull off the highway for gas. Start up the truck and ZERO oil pressure. I shut off the truck right away. Start it again..ZERO oil pressure. I rev the engine and bam - oil pressure. This than happens at every stop where reving the engine gets pressure up. Almost like a bad relief valve or something. I get to the campground, unhitch and drive to an auto parts shop. Grab a random Bosch filter and instantly - NO more issues the entire trip and oil change interval. Next oil change I use another bosch and no issues. Following oil change, another AC Delco and within 2000 miles...SAME ISSUE!!! I immediately replace the filter with an STP and issue gone. Now, a few years later and never using an AC filter again, I've never had the issue again.
