I found some unopened qts of 0w-20 for sale. What are the concerns I should have about its condition? I read in the oil university articles here that the formation of wax in a dino when stored in the cold is a major concern. How about a synthetic's shelf life?

use away & sleep well.

If there is any wax, it is in there. It may congeal when cold and reliquify when hot. No different than inside an engine. Wax isn't created by storage.

No worries about storage life of any oil. It is good for several years. The jug will fail before the oil.

0w20 cannot be blended as a pure dino anyway, it has to be at least part synthetic. I wouldn't worry about using it. There are BITOGers out there with oil stashes large enough to last several years.
