The site looks convincing.I have yet to use auto rx or any cleaner in any of my engines.I put on over 300k on a 88 Town Car,200k on a 88 Crown Victoria.120k on a 99 Grand Marquis plus family members all have put on over 150k on their cars in this Miami heat and nightmare traffic and the a/c on all these cars is never in the off position so thats just adds more heat in this traffic.All these cars survived without auto rx.All these cars had oil changed between 3 and 5k with regular conventional oil.
But to each their own.BTW was in a taxi last week with 320k [99 Crown Vic]and i aked him if he ever used auto rx.He said never.He just gives it regular oil changes.

MIAMI-DADE- you make a good point. Some of those older RWD cars will go forever with just basic maintenance, additives or not. However, not all vehicles will do so. Also, even if they do, their engines may not be as clean at the end of the 300k mi. Whether or not this cleanliness relates to significantly longer engine life is questionable, but consider the anal retentive oil nuts on this board (and I mean that in a good way, as I consider myself one of them), they would rather err on the side of safety and have a potentially cleaner engine.

So.... the moral of the story, frequently dump the oil.The cleaner engine does not make for longer life. Just looks better. No better gas mileage? No better performance? Just look clean, and does not count for real function...Or???
I am trying a product in my 7.3 Nav Diesel from Schaeffer, designed to use for 500 miles, then drain the oil. Wonder if this is a similiar product? Then add fresh oil. 7000 Schaeffer in this application.
Any body out there had any experience with Nutra Fuel stabilizer by Schaeffer??
I am not interested in making it look better inside unless the end result is better function..and more of it? What say you pros..???

A clean engine will run cooler. The varnish and sludge that develops over time will prevent fresh oil and additives from reaching seals, causing them to crack, dry out, or harden. Accumulated sludge can let go all at once when an engine sees an extreme load, causing several problems. All that said, I would never "flush" a customer's car. I have seen too many problems where sludge got loose and caused problems.

Almost like the dino vs synthetic means a longer life....same deal.
now that being said, I DID buy 2 bottles of Auto-RX to see what happens....now 20 years down the road, I have no clue.

This is what was reported in this test. I don't know what others have read. I certainly don't have a dog in this fight and I wish Frank would send me free product. I buy it, use it, and hope for the best based on the information.
