A Quick Quiz Datsun 180B 1978 engine cuts out.

As per title, this conundrum came into my workplace when I was an apprentice.
Hot engine, the car would idle smoothly all day long. No driveablity issues and starting was fine. It wasn't fuel related.
Any ideas?

Just a simple earthing fault. The steel bonnet was making up for the corroded earth. Open the bonnet and the engine stopped!

The engine or a component was making contact with the bonnet??

Aren't these things a fuel injection nightmare with the old Bosch systems?
