Came across this video today. I don't know a lot about oil filters, but this one seemed decent from what I could tell. This company sells a lot of parts, I have no experience personally with them.
Yes I noticed that as well, good point.I watched this previously and pointed out to Midwest F150 that at no point was the micron rating found. Probably 46-ish micron, but unknown.
Says it has "semi-synthetic" media, so might be better than that but I doubt it's 99% @20-25u or they would probably put it on the box.I watched this previously and pointed out to Midwest F150 that at no point was the micron rating found. Probably 46-ish micron, but unknown.
That certainly does not look like stainless steel to me !Package say it has a "stainless steel" can ... I'd like to see that proven.
My beer doesn't even come in stainless steel cans.Package says it has a "stainless steel" can ... I'd like to see that proven.
Where's a filter magnet when you need one? Perhaps there was one and it fell off?Package says it has a "stainless steel" can ... I'd like to see that proven.
Some stainless steel is magnet, it depends on the alloy composition. The real test would be clean up the inside real well to remove all the oil and subject it to water for awhile to see if it rusts or not. Even if it's low grade stainless steel it could rust if exposed to something harsh like salt water. But if it's any kind of stainless steel it shouldn't rust from just being wet with water for a short period. If it's not magnetic its a high grade of stainless steel.Where's a filter magnet when you need one? Perhaps there was one and it fell off?
I have seen that before on other filters and it is usually the ones that get fog sprayed with a rust protective storage coating of the inside can and is more of a scratch of the coating when first assembled and set. Doubt it is moving around after that.I don't like the look of those scratches caused by the coil spring. But all-in-all, looks like a decent filter.
This is true. For some reason it jumped out at me here. Don't know why.I have seen that before on other filters and it usually the ones that get fog sprayed with a rust protective storage coating of the inside can and is more a scratch of the coating when first assembled and set. Doubt it is moving around after that.
