I once found a wrapped Kendall Mint Cake floating in a pool in a limestone cave quite a long way under Yorkshire.

I used that. Was a bit syrupy but I'm still alive.

I have run mono grades PYB 30 and PYB 40 for years in my vehicles because I got about 100 quarts almost free. I am in a similar climate in SE TX, so I can say with high confidence your Accord will perfectly fine. I used the 30's in the "winter" and the 40's the rest of the year.

Anecdotally, we once had a freak cold front in early April, just after I had changed out to the 40 weight oil. It got to 32 for a day and a half. My truck filled with the 40 wt. never even noticed it.

Thanks for the feedback. Between this thread and the other one going on about monogrades rights now I've pretty much sealed the deal on some PYB 30

Good choice.

I used Petronas SAE40 for several years up till 2014, but finally abandoned the practice due to its lowly SAE SF/CC specs.

What specific performance areas is an SF deficient in?

I see drums of the CPC stuff next to, for example, irrigation pumps in surrounding rice fields, and have thought of trying to find out where the farmers buy it.

However, at my rate of oil change it'll be a few years before I need any more oil, making it a rather pointless exercise for the forseable future, assuming there is one.
