What do you consider high milage for a gas engine?
I heard 300k for a diesel from another thread.
I'm talking light class gas engines- less than 14000lbs GVW
My gas engine list
95' ranger 3.0 412k miles NEVER opened the motor- Used Mobil 1 5w30. Seemed factory tight.
99' ZX2 Escort 2.0 DOHC 202k miles Just a TB at 140k. Has 2,250 hours idling time in addition to the OD. Using 5w20 oil Seems quiet...Repairs: Radiator@ 180k B/C Oring leaked coolant, Alt @ 195k, Blower motor plug and resister @ 200k.., Wheel bearing replacements at each wheel once. $400 therabouts total...
Motor Seems like it could go another 250k+ It doesn't leak, drip or even SEEP oil at the gaskets.
Going by performance, relabily of the past, I would trust this car over some cars with only 50k miles on them from some that I have driven.
I would say these Ford are "just" broken in at their milage...
I have been the sole driver for 95% of the milage
Whats yours?
