Was supposed to be today but tech was sick. Reschedule for Sat.Time for a cleaning. Did you get it done yet? 26 years is a long time. Do you have pets?
Fire/explosion hazardI'm not sure I get the logic behind cleaning ducts, unless there is something more harmful than dust in there, or airflow is restricted significantly. The dust was in the air, and now it's not. Why is that bad? If dust settled in there and the underlying cause hasn't been corrected, it would stand to reason that the ducts will be dirty again in short order.
I assume these are un filtered return ducts, and that the filter is in the furnace.Man that is a lot dust, what type of filters have you been using in your system all these years?

Typical 1" filters. I usually used a standard filter not the cheapest see thru fiberglass ones.Man that is a lot dust, what type of filters have you been using in your system all these years?

Probably will stop working soon now that you've cleaned it, LOL.View attachment 41518
This sort of relates but, I cleaned my mother's refrigerator condenser out this morning, I don't know how that fridge was staying remotely cold, she moved in the place in 2013, the fridge was manufactured in March of 1990, who knows how long it's been since it was cleaned.
I used mostly 6-8 merv I think.Whats the MERV or FPR (home depots) rating of that 1" filter?
My house was built in 2005, but it was a second home and legit looked new when I moved in, in 2017. I wonder how much I would actually benefit. For me I got quotes from 450.00 - 550.00
