After being a life time Mobil 1 user I am switching my wifes truck over to Amsoil SSO and EAO filter. 500 more miles she will have 12,500 miles on Mobil 1 EP 5w30 and filter, I am going to get a UOA done and see how well that held up compared to the 10k run I did on regular Mobil 1...I will do a UOA after 15k on the Amsoil and see how much longer it will last and go from there.

In for the results!

Go ahead and let us in on the stats of the vehicle as it sits/@ OCI so there will be some start figures to look at!

Thank you for doing UOAs on your extended drains! People like you are what make BITOG what it is.

You should really do at least two OC's with an oil brand before doing a UOA. If you ran the Amsoil, then changed your oil and ran the same Amsoil oil again and then did your UOA, you would get a better picture of how your engine likes it. FWIW

I think there are definitely some cases where this is true, especially if there is even the possibility that you're lugging around a fair amount of sludge or grime from your prior OCI's.
Good point!
