Last year's pickling escapades

Salting down cukes in preparation to make bread 'n butter pickles

Cukes soaking in calcium hydroxide to make lime pickles.

These both turned out well - the bread 'n butter go great with BBQ. The lime pickles are interesting both in taste and texture. I also made some kosher dills, but that recipe was not a winner, so I'll try a different one this year.

Was your dog pointing north? I've read that dogs normally turn to face the north when doing their thing. My dogs do most of the time.
