I need a 9 Volt block battery that contains six cylindrical steel-clad 1.5 V cells which are almost the size of AAAA batteries.

The brand of 9 V block battery that I used to buy has now sandwiched cells, which are useless to me.

Does anybody know which brand alkaline 9V block battery contains six ca AAAA size cells? I don't feel like going out and buying one of each available brand just to find out they all use now the sandwiched cells. I am sure some of you bust open batteries!

I believe either Duracell Industrial Alkaline 9V pile or EverReady Alkaline Industrial grade 9V pile still comes with 6-pcs of serially-connected AAAA batteries within.

At least this is still the case when I last took apart a Duracell Industrial 9V 2 months ago.

An 9 Volt battery is used for electricity storage. So it each of its six cells.

Probably something along this line of thought

It's less a being thrifty issue and more of a size issue. I have a device that requires 1.5 Volt cells that are a 3 mm shorter and also a bit thinner than standard AAAA cells. While AAAA can be used if their exterior cover and front contact are stripped, not all AAAA cells will be short enough. Since manufacturers change their design constantly, buying AAAA cells is a hit or miss in regard to usability. Those 9 V block batteries that are made up of six indiviudual cylindrical cells, have always been perfect in size for my application. Voila!

Is the casing on the 9V thin enough to feel the cells through it? Maybe apples and oranges, but I was looking at a 9V lithium that you could see the outlines of the cells within.

No, all the 9 Volt alkaline batteries I have dealt with had a fairly thick metal skin. There's unfortunately no way to see what's underneath. You really have to lift the skirt and take a peek...
