Hello to all,
1st off thanks to all who helped me on here in the past. I ended up purchasing the 84 Camry I had previously mentioned on here I might get happy with car and motor. The problem I am having is no brake lights at all. They were working fine when I got the car now I got nothing. So no brake/taillights come on in the back when I turn headlights on and they don't work/come on when I hit the brake pedal. Everything else (all other lights in back) work fine. So again got no brake or taillights in the back at all. Can someone please advise me on what causes this and what it might be as I am drawing a blank here.....
What I have tried so far.... I check the bulbs its not that, and I checked all the fuses its not that. There must be someone on here who has had a similar problem I hope please advise me thanks.

Dirty ground? Dirty connection? I have an intermittent connection on one of the turn signals on my 91 BMW.

I had the switch go on my 04' Mazda6, and after being changed my cruise control went out. Even though the brakes light up fine, i wonder if the switch might be defective.

Do you have a volt/ohm meter? I would start probing around in the bulb sockets. Ohm between the bulb's outer socket and ground, or see if you can stuff wire in with the bulb to touch the other end to ground. Should be zero ohms as the shell is ground. Then look for 12 volts as appropriate between the bottom contacts and the outer shell.

The turn signals might do something funky like ground through the side marker lights (or vice versa) so a wiring diagram might be handy. Could get one through autozone if you put your car info into their online "gaarage" or your town public library might have an alldata subscription you can access through their web portal.

The car has 63k originally miles on it I doubt it would be a brake light switch. I will check it though when I can (next off day).
