70 Trans Am pics found and why GM blew it with new F bodies

Cool trip down Memory Ct. not enough cars for 'Lane'.

OP's pic #4: The light in the wheel well makes the pedals look way far to the left.
OP's pic #6: Is that a drain hole at the forward left edge of the white ram air scoop?
Re UD and Just Dropped In's pics: While the Firebird was a legendary automotive trip, those gold honeycomb wheels didn't seem to go with a 'sports car' vibe. Was it GM's way to "Pontiac-up" the Camaro? ...perhaps lightening up the look?
I always thought they were an out of place touch of glam.

About those wheels - the car didnt have them when I had it, I had a set of Cragars on it.
Apparently a mint set of gold honeycombs are really hard to come by.

The 77-78 TA is my favorite! As a kid that was what got me into cool cars, I built so many TA models and I had T shirts and keychains and anything else I could get my hands on. If I had an extra $335,000 lying around I would buy this awesome restomod that has been for sale in Canada for a while now (has an 800 horsepower supercharged LS2 in it as well as many other high dollar parts)
