Preparing to do it myself this time and this video is very helpful. Seems like an easy job.
Drain and fill, absolutely nothing else, not even a filter. That looks easier than Gen 3.
I really prefer to do the filter because I can get a lot more old fluid out before I remove a return line and run the vehicle on & off to flush the transmission of more fluid.Drain and fill, absolutely nothing else, not even a filter.
Is Mityvac good? It’s a super easy job. I did the same thing on my ‘19 Camry Hybrid using this same video. I’d recommend a good fluid pump, an accurate torque wrench, and make sure you get OEM crush washers. Also, make sure the car is level.
Can the Mityvac pump or only extract via vacuum? Is Mityvac good?
Don't think you can pump it out or at least easily but you will need to pump it in unless it's possible to snake a tube from up top into the fill plug. I bought a hyper tough branded hand pump from walmart years ago and it still works perfectly for pumping fluid in and out. That should do just fine to refill the trans. Is Mityvac good?
It does both, the one that is sold at Harbor Freight does both as well. They are extractor and dispenserCan the Mityvac pump or only extract via vacuum?
I am way too frugal for that.
I think it took me less than an hour with smoke breaks, not rushing. But that was just draining and fill, I did not even bother getting new crush washers. Probably should next time.
