Dad has one, ive shot it plenty, I want one now.. fantastic cowboy gun. I posted something myself not long ago mentioning my desire to buy one as well as a lever rifle.
actually dad has the redhawk and the blackhawk.. both awesome.
Like Bill, I put a better grip on mine right after I got it. It's a double-handful, but it shoots well. I've shot both Rugers and Smith and Wessons, and I really can't tell any difference in quality.
I was doing some work on one for one of my uncles the other week. Ended up taking it out to the range. Fine, fine gun. Built like a tank. I couldn't help but think that it would be ideal for hunting hogs.

Mine is fantastic but admit the griping area is too big for my hands. I have a 6" barrel version and it's so heavy my wrist get tired after a short shooting secession. Most ofthe time I put a scope on it and shoot from the bencch now.
Have 3 Redhawks in the collection, occasionally shoot each over a 20 + year period. One black and 2 nickle. Beautiful well finished, highly functional gun.
