I have been in a situation like that before. Pablo, it appears from the photos that it is not that cold there. Imagine your situation and the air temp is about 20. Hope your power comes on SOONER than later. GOOD LUCK.

Yeah, Pabs .... unless another storm comes along..

Ice storms are what knock out power in North Texas a few times every decade. The local utility is rigorous now about tree trimming. Usually a gas stove in the kitchen is enough (with judicial venting) to get by in sub-freezing temps.

We're in line, someday, for the type of tornado that flattened suburban OKC a few years back. That's the one that is truly scary.

Sorry to see the trouble, I sympathize. A few days is an adventure but more than that is just a PITA.

I am in Lewis County, less than 2 miles off I-5. Our private road is served by underground power, which I really, really appreciate after every big windstorm. We got by with only 2 1/2 days of no power. I am glad because then the temps did dip down into the 20s.

I have heard one of the problems our PUD has run across is thieves stealing the downed power lines to recycle. They really should be shooting looters.

Just think, you will be able to tell stories about this for decades.

Wow Pabs. I don't see any Electric Company trucks in those pictures.

What's the latest estimate on getting power. At least you are doing your part to help energy conservation in the U.S.

A bonk on the head with a Fram filter to the first one proclaiming.......

"It looks like a war zone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Pablo,
Back in 1978 we had a blizzard here in the northeast that paralyzed the whole area for about 10 days. People were out walking and actually spoke to each other (a rare occurence for those un-familiar with New Englanders). For me it was a trip back in time to see what life was like W/O a car circa 1878. I often reflect back on that time as pretty interesting as do most around here. I hope you will too, when it is over! For you automotive buffs - this storm trigered the 4X4 demand as the numbers did a complete flip-flop. Sales of 4-wheel drive vehicles sky-rocketed after this event to where they are today.
