$3,000 lawnmower in California

I think it has more to do with the fact that you can't buy gas OPE in California anymore.
That is incorrect. OPE MADE BEFORE 12/31/2023 is allowed. And it is a stepped process done in phases over time, like 4 years (?) and different categories. Plenty of OPE is available like generators, trimmers, saws, etc.

Words have meaning, you probably meant to say NEW GAS OPE, not gas OPE as stated. Even that is not correct. And used OPE is not affected.

So many laws, so many lawyers, the deep state is very deep not just in the PRC.:devilish:

Easy Google search will show the details.

No stores have any in stock

I bought a Kawasaki powered Toro mower the last week of December, before the ban in California. I had to mail order the machine, because most California sellers had stopped stocking gas machines some time ago. The law makes specific mention of equipment made prior to 2024 is okay to sell, but in reality, there was very little available. Many sellers also stopped shipping to California. I know, because several places out of state wouldn't fulfill my order.

I was watching Facebook and Craigslist for a commercial grade Honda, like shown in the first post, but most were priced through the roof.

As luck would have it, my electric weed wacker died this week. A POS Dewalt that died under warranty, got fixed, but now died again outside warranty.

I ordered a gas powered Echo off eBay, expecting it to be cancelled, but it shipped, soon to be delivered. Either the seller isn't on top of the CA laws, or, quite likely, they are on top of knowing that the machine in question was made last year. Anyway, I'm happy to be getting it soon. I also bought a Honda power head, where different power attachments can be added. I'll keep which ever unit I like better.
