2GR-FE is pretty easy on oil I guess...

I am 2000 miles into my trip, currently camping in North Dakota. Of course, the engine has functioned flawlessly. I changed the oil before I left, with M1 0w40, It still looks pretty good.

Yep. So much so that my friend, who is now a retired mechanic, was seeing a bunch of them coming and owners stating: "my transmission is bad," or " my engine is bad." Just to find out that mechanics who were supposed to change spark plugs simply skipped those three.
yep, have seen that, lazy, useless mechanics who take no pride in their work.

Let's see, I've got about 4,500 mi on my oil change that I did last month. I've been using mobil1 0w40, but I'm wondering is there a super tech synthetic that I could use seeing as how this engine is so easy on oil. I see super tech 5W-40 and now 0w-40, wouldn't be opposed to using a 0w30 or 5w30. So many choices these days. If I can save 5 to 10 dollars per oil change I might switch to super tech, as long as it's good enough for my engine doing 5K mile oil changes. Any suggestions?

What does your owner's manual specify?
I run Supertech 0w-20 in my 2018 Avalon. 6 months or 5k OCI whatever comes first and the oil always looks good coming out.
