I often wonder about Rivian, and other EV companies, as to how they can continue operations while operating at a loss. The GMsof the world can absorb their EV losses with their overall (trucks) product line. But that's just the finance guy in me.
It sounds like this R2 is going to make or break them.

"It’s a full day excursion. That being said, they’re really good about sending a service truck to my house, and I’m being told Trenton is close. I wouldn’t let the service center determine your decision."

Buster are you going to buy one?
I don't know but it has my attention. I want to get back into an SUV, maybe even a car. I don't utilize the bed of the pickup enough and I'm nearing the end of the powertrain warranty.

I was looking at 4Runner Limited trims due to the torsen center diff full time 4WD but this R2 has me re-thinking that.

So far from what I've read it seems like they nailed it with the R2. Has plenty of range, power and utility. The question and concerns remain around - reliability and fact that Rivian is very small.

I really like that it's USA made too.

My wife is sold on everything but the looks!
Nice. I personally like the looks but obviously subjective.

I think they nailed it and achieved what they set out to. The question now is how consumers respond to it and whether this can keep Rivian afloat.

What happens if they folded?
