2025 so far EV sales up 28%

My point was I did not qualify for the 2nd purchase, so it was not a factor in my decision to buy.
Kinda funny; the tax credit on the 2018 car was a factor in the purchase; I learned to really appreciate the car. That car's experience was the major factor in my decision to buy the 2024 M3P. There was no doubt in my mind I would buy the refresh and that it would be the Performance model.

Great! Do it! But don't bail out GM or Chrysler again.

However, if Tesla sells 400,000 vehicles this quarter and 399,999 the first quarter without a Federal tax credit then you and the media will cry, "sagging sales when Federal 'subsidy' ended!"

The Federal tax credit is conditional upon income. Higher earners do not get. Lower earners must owe $7500 in Federal income tax to receive the full amount, else it simply covers their Federal income tax for that year. The unused amount does not roll over to the next year.
The credit hits most people. The Modified AGI of a married couple is under $300,000. Thats basically the top 2% of income households nationally. Its likely less in California and such, but its still most people.

$7500 is a Modified AGI of about $67,000. So really if you make less than that you really shouldn't be buying a new car anyway.

I would suggest the vast majority of buyers are eligible. I know many owners have not asked for it, and it wouldn't change their mind one way or the other, but its really wrong for govco to pick winners and losers.

I agree with you on the 2008 bail outs. Doubtful either of us will get a vote next time either.

I'm only referring to recent videos of morons vandalizing Teslas. The videos I've seen are local, on the local News. The majority of vandalizing morons I've seen on video are older. Even the younger appearing are adults, at least chronologically, but definitely not mentally.

The videos are posted on the local News, looking to identify the individuals caught on camera vandalizing. Hopefully they'll all be caught, and spend some quality time behind bars, in addition to having to pay restitution for the damage they caused.

I see more things like this which reminds me of years ago where there were always more so called “counter protesters “ than actual people involved in the event and inevitably there is more escalation, damage, trash and injuries because you blow up a small area with hundreds of angry people in tight quarters,

“a protest was taking place at [a] Tesla dealership, with approximately 30 protesters and an estimated 200 counter-protesters in attendance. The victim was identified as a counter-protester at the event,"

for 8 years, plays out the same, every single time. Always an excuse as well, armed or threatening or blocking the road then someone gets hurt or worse.

I just watched the local Noon news. A bunch more 'protestors' at the Tesla dealership we bought from last week. NO, repeat NO counter-protestors. With the narrative spin the so-called Journalists were putting on the 'protest', they would have loved to show some counter-protestors agitating the situation. I guess we could go down and point and laugh at the imbeciles yelling, and looking for some non-lunatic to intimidate, but I have better things to do with my time. As do most people not suffering from psychosis. Hence the lack of counter-protestors.

So your narrative doesn't hold true from what I'm seeing. Also I called our Tesla salesman as I was going to drive by to have him go over a few things with me. He told me it's not worth the hassle to wade through the pathetic morons blocking access to the dealership. He did say they've got a call in to Police to move the protestors away from blocking access to the dealership. It should make for good viewing on the evening News.

We're in an alternate timeline. The guys who used to coal roal Teslas are now coal rolling Tesla protesters. I've confronted many recently and they all say "we never did that, we've always loved Teslas." That's why I have so many videos of it happening to one of my own cars. 🙄

Here's the video of a truck coal rolling Tesla protesters. I wouldn't in a million years think this would ever happen. I can't repeat the words that were hurled as insults on here without it being starred out I've received from people driving trucks like this when I've been driving a Tesla just last year.

As of 3/11 anyway.

People seem to still really like them even though they may not like the leaders of specific companies, or why they are available at all.
It will be interesting to see if post tax incentives this remains the same, or if this is a rush to get while the getting is good.
Tesla ran out of incentives prior but sales remained robust.

Im looking forward to seeing hot weather testing for GMS latest to see if they can keep the cabin cool while fast charging when it's 100+ out.

EV’s destroying the environment

Indeed they are, in the US as few as 8 individuals may be responsible for nearly all of the vandalism. I have a feeling the scope stateside maybe hyped up 100x worse than it actually is because of 1 prominent case. (Aka vehicle vandalism in general dwarfs the Tesla vandalism cases by a large factor)

Searching I'm only aware of these Tesla vandal locations:
Tesla vandals face up to 20 years in prison, says attorney general
With vandalism in the following locations
  • Salem, OR
  • Colorado (two?)
  • Loveland, TX
  • North Charleston, SC
  • ? 1x Cali minor
Are there more?

Most are non-voters and under 25 with a couple outliers, from my point of view a handful of angry cranks are taking advantage of crowds of non-violent 80 year old women holding signs by roadsides as a cover/excuse to be anarchists.

Just like the umbrella men who followed protests to light fires and break windows these jokers need extreme prejudice, some are underage so not sure how that goes.

Doubtful,
The guy in Colorado was caught due to license plate readers and I think posting info on his social media profile.

I'm surprised they managed 377K given all the gloom.
Given the new Y isn't out yet outside of the expensive launch edition & Elon doing his best to drive the customer base away.

If the cybertruck was closer to something normal they could have been moving trucks, but that dog is already tapped out.
Biggest waste of corporate time ever and what you get when you let a guy thats never once used a truck in his life design a truck.

Very interested to see where the sector lines up and see if everyone else fills the gap.

Oh how the media influences.... however tomorrow is not going to be pretty. Going to be around 90,000 less cars sold then estimates a few months ago. and pretty much stagnant from a year ago. Following after tomorrow will be the earnings disaster April 22
Maybe the stock will rally until then, and catch the public while the funds sell.

Impossible to know with Tesla, it's a trading stock, nothing justifies its valuation other than speculation. (nothing wrong with that for those who know and invest on future hopes)

The incident I quoted based on witnesses was due to the victim doing something stupid/dangerous on the way to the protest. This caused the individual who had nothing to do with protests go into a rage following him to his destination with inevitable results.

The victim wasn’t going to involve police and drove himself bleeding to the hospital where inevitably police became involved arresting the road rager.

Mainstream media (Fox in this case) could have used this as a learning moment to demonstrate how individuals were behaving stupidly, one deserving a ticket for recklessness driving and the other deserving jail time for taking matters into his own hands but instead left out 99% of the story making it seem like people at a protest just became violent before leaving their cars for no reason.

This is why context matters and sometimes what you see isn’t a complete view.

Cybertruck is one of the dumbest looking vehicles I've ever seen in my life. Guy around the corner had one for about 3 weeks and traded it back in. I saw one up close over the weekend and the build quality is horrendous. Total fail.

It's the kind of thing that happens in a company where no one stands up to the boss.

This also happens with "cult of personality" product managers from time to time.

Totally impossible to tell.

I've lost count of how many times a quarter was declared at large as a disaster that was going to end the company.

One thing for certain is, it'd be a great time for Elon to announce he's leaving the company to pursue his other interests and let the adults take it from here.

So it's been over a year since my cousins nephew bought his Cybertruck. He still likes it, and plans to keep it. Other than a loser caught on camera vandalizing it recently, it has been great according to him.

This is why I will never take this country seriously anymore. The side who loved him 10 years hates him now and the ones who hated him 10 years ago love him now.
