Maybe someone has felt with this. First I am taking it back to Honda. I’m just checking in here for y’all’s knowledge. It is a recall. The steering at the 12 o’clock position has a mild bump / resistance / catch. I’ve taken it in for the recall during the summer. It had that catch feeling. They did the bandaid approach. Greased the worm gear and possibly replaced a spring. Per Honda. The issue is actually a bad part. The worm gear is what I’ve read. Out of spec or bad material.. This car has electronic steering I do believe. But anyway I got an appointment… I have heard a steering box change is the correct answer. But Honda fights hard to do that. Love the vehicle. It’s a Civic in a crossover style. Thanks Wardawg.

My mom has a 22 Civic, same issue, same recall. The first time they just inspected and greased, said everything was fine. My mom was still upset; said it was hard for her to drive the car. She was ready to trade it in and then a second recall came, and they replaced some parts (unfortunately I'm not sure what) and now she said it is fixed, drives nice, and she is happy. I'm pretty sure they did not replace the entire rack, just a couple smaller parts (gear and spring, maybe?).

My sister’s ‘23 HRV does the same thing. It’s very noticeable at highway speeds. I asked her to take it in but of course she’s too lazy. I didn’t know it was a recall…

Can someone post the recall notice?

Thanks.

Jeep riot , call the Honda dealership that she would take it to and give them the vin. It needs to be taken care of. It’s worse in cold weather also.

Had the same issue in my 2016 Civic Coupe. Dealership was very useless for this issue and the warm restart rattling in the cvt and key fobs not being recognized by the car. After the experience they gave its probably my last Honda

Pretty simple with the tools to make it that way. Looks like they greased and put a new little spring in it. I will have to pull my invoice and see what they actually done on my recall trip last summer. Wardawg.

Update. Honda says they are replacing the steering box and some part of the steering rack. Gave us a new CRV hybrid for a loaner car. I told them it’s been 2000 miles since the recall was done. It went away for about 1500 miles. They drove it and said they felt it also. We’ll see. Wardawg
