I'm not a fan of the black plastic wheelwell arches. They work well on the Crosstrek - they make it look rugged and offroad-worthy - but who wants that on a WRX? Sure, I get it - it has "rally car heritage" - but who on this side of the pond actually takes their car on a rally course? This isn't Europe... People here drive SUVs when they go on a dirt road.

The GTI is only FWD, a big disadvantage compared to the WRX if you ask me. The Golf R is a lot of money. It will be too close in price to like a Tesla Model 3 Performance when you factor in the fuel savings, probable dealer markup on the Golf R, stronger resale value on a Tesla. We all know the M3P shreds face in acceleration too.
They killed off the Alltrack/4 motion wagons, those were the bang for the buck AWD turbo option.
