Hello folks,

Here is the coolant analysis for my 2022 Santa Fe. I see if I can get time to contact them to provide details on the coolant brand/sku. Nevertheless, it seems the car needs new coolant after just two years. I don't know the history of the coolant service but I don't expect anyone other than the dealer has touched the system since the car was/is under warranty.

Lab comments: Suggest draining this system by 50% and adding new 50/50 premixed coolant; The nitrite level is low which may be due to precipitation from over treatment with inhibitor, an air leak, over extending service, or mixing coolant formulations. The pH level is moderately low and below specifications. This may indicate inadequate buffers, an air leak, combustion gas leak, localized over heating, mixing coolant formulations, or over extending coolant use. We are unable to evaluate the condition of the coolant corrosion inhibitors due to missingor unknown coolant manufacturer and/or product (fluid) name information. Please provide missing COOLANT MANUFACTURER and PRODUCT NAME;

Both of my VWs have an overflow tank where the coolant is added. This tank gets extremely hot when driving indicating that coolant flows through it. About four times a year, I use a turkey baster to suck it dry and replace it with new VW coolant. I have done this for years and it prevents having to drain and refill the system.

That's actually pretty clever.

None of my Hyundai's and Kia's ever needed anything prior to 120K (according to the manual.) Of course, I did a drain/fill at 60K, and then every 30K. What does the manual say for this turbo? Maybe that's the difference. More heat?

TGDI: At first, replace at 80,000 miles (130,000 km) or 10 years. After that, replace every 24,000 miles (39,000 km) or 24 months.
It's interesting how the interval drops after the first change.
