I love diesel engines, but I wouldn't want a diesel anything in a new vehicle. The ridiculously expensive emissions control systems have made diesel a stupid option at this point for anyone who doesn't do constant heavy towing.

The current ecoD is like a $4k option … the way my Jeep is geared it’s going to run out traction before I run out of torque … and the Pentastar is lowest in torque …
I like them too. But I'd pass for the reasons you stated. When we were looking at the diesel GC a few years back the up charge for the diesel was close to $5K. That made zero sense to me, especially for the engine they put in the GC. The only plus was it came with the heavy duty version of the ZF used with the hemi engine. But doing a little research about the engine and all the problems they were having was enough to turn me off to it real fast, even if there was no up charge. I'd love to own a diesel, but I can safely say I don't think I ever will.
FCA Hates us. Leaked pricing shows this wrangler around 77k, with low allocations and dealer markups likely. In other words, a total waste of money. This will be way beyond a reasonable premium for the V8. Why not just grab a Wrangler S and rip it apart? Put crate axles, crate engine, all that into it and be $$$ ahead.
Yep, I stated from the beginning this will be a low production high-priced specialty vehicle, like the TrackHawk Grand Cherokee. The interesting thing is plenty of people will pay this.
They'll easily sell every one, probably over MSRP.
Probably. Places like California where you can't get away with mods as easily. I'd rather spend 30k on a base model, 30k on mods, and have a full brand new drive train to put into another project.
They should charge more, silly vehicle needs a silly price.

40k for a Hemi ram bighorn 2, built to serve edition seems cheap after that.
could have paid 37k for the non-built to serve but hey needed the color too..
and it does have a couple of specific features that arent found in any other ram.
Was looking at gladiators but they are half the truck, look cheap and goofy until 40k+ and then start adding in the options.
hit 50k for one and it gets same gas mileage as full size truck....
They arent perfect but anyone who wants to trash talk Rams based on their truck 10 years ago needs to drive a 2021 model.
Well it only took 7 months from when they announced it for a few of these Wrangler 392 to actually make it to the lots around here. $75-80k+ prices. Why do i have to be so fiscally conservative? I could just trade my All track in on one of these, YOLO right?!

I don't think the young/bad driver crowd will get approved on a 392 Wrangler, at around $1300+ a month payments, it's financially painful!
