It's happening. 6.4 liter Hemi Wrangler, 0-60 4.5 seconds, heavier duty Dana 44s, 8 Speed auto, nice interior, ect.

This is just insane. I want one. Probably won't want one bad enough to shell out the $$$ but wow. People are guessing pricing in the 60k range.

This would’ve been cool like 5 years ago but now, meh. You can outrun a 392 on foot.

The Trailcat in 797hp trim would be incredible but safety concerns made them scrap that idea.

I figured somebody would say the 6.4 all motor isn't enough. Keep in mind this is an off road jeep. The reliability and higher MPG of the 6.4 vs the 6.2 makes it superior in all but one metric, the straight line acceleration. The hellcat gets 2 mpg less than the 6.4 in a GC for example. The gas mileage and the extra heat would be problematic off road. Unless they find a way to fit more gas, you only get 21.5 gallons in a wrangler.

For the other SRT products, i would prefer the 6.2 supercharged, but the wrangler 6.4 is juuust right!

There is no extra heat, the hellcat uses a clutch to activate the blower on demand and keeps the charge cool. My old E55 did the same thing.

I think is cool now! Who needs a 3.6 start/stop Pentastar Wrangler when you're climbing the Lion's Back in Moab, UT?
While I can come up with zero scenarios during any of my trips to Moab (or Colorado) with our Jeep where a 6.4L Hemi would have helped us clear an obstacle, I can say with full confidence it would have made things much more interesting (and sound better)!

I like Wranglers but when I see the one I want is $48K, it gives me pause. I paid less than 35K for a well equipped 4WD Crew Cab Ram 2 years ago.

I don't think the 1995 YJ came with that idiotic start/stop system - Is that the one you're talking about?

There would have to be extra heat if the engine gets 2 mpg less. That fuel is converted into mostly heat and some horsepower. You would also have a more crowded engine bay, more coolant reservoirs, ect.

If it comes with Dana 60's (at least in the rear), a 6-speed manual, and a T-case in the 4:1 low-range vicinity, I'd be interested.
What would the the 4:1 transfer case add? I would think that with an 8 speed torque converted automatic and a 2.71:1 T case you would have absurd amounts of torque at very low throttle inputs.

A manual option, as always, would be welcomed. The Dana 60s would be nice too!
