Got our first 2021 Ford Mach E.

First time I've actually seen it in the Chicago Land area.

Drove it and it's very responsive. Obviously, because it's an electric car.

$51k MSRP. I'm pretty sure we're going to sell it either at sticker or above 🤣

That's going to be with every ford dealership that's got one.View attachment 55228
How does this work, does the dealer order one? Or does Ford force it on a dealer like some are thinking? I am pretty sure it is up to the dealer. Really nice car and I like hatchbacks practical side. It is a hatchback, right? I had a Honda salesman trying to tell me the Clarity was a hatchback when I was looking around at cars. I opened the trunk and said where is it. He still insisted it was a hatchback.

Have you ever walked thru a Walmart? Half of Americans cannot comb their hair or tie their shoes. Oh no, my screen is blank, let me post it on the internet!!! Problem solved, it seems i fell asleep and the car turned off.
Plenty of legit complaints there not related to user error.

I'm sure it will be fine. Not sure your obsession over this considering you don't own one.
It’s more of an Ford thing. Plenty of firsthand knowledge and experience with first year models with family and friends. This has the added bonus of more complexity. I don’t have to own one to be an auto enthusiast interested in what’s going on in the auto world.

So you're brand bashing.

Ford told my son they couldn't find anything wrong with the PowerShift transmission in his focus 4 times.

Turns out not only did they know it was a pile, they built all them knowing they'd never work right.

This episode saddened me greatly as I loved my SHO, & my lightning.

Careful, you may offend dishdude in reporting factual information about Ford.

Yeah, that whole fiasco was not handled well by Ford.

Bitog has never been a "safe space" for any brand.

Pretty much every vehicle still has a 12V battery in it teslas included.
They die as well, but not usually within a month or two.
Telsa is going to be adding 12V feedback and switching to lithiums.

Not really, it's more of an EV thing. Audi has had some early issues with the e-tron (leaks, such as sunroof and water getting into the battery compartment), Tesla has had, and continues to have, fit and finish issues, but they also had issues with breaking control arms early on, dying screens, bluetooth not working properly, the phone as a key not working properly...etc. Audi owners have had their vehicles refuse to charge, and unlike the Mach-e, it doesn't do OTA, so that's a dealer visit (fun!).

Yes, the coach building issues with the Mach-e are a bit odd, given Ford's extensive history of building cars/trucks/SUV's (unlike Tesla) but the electronic/infotainment/communication issues are pretty much par for the course and we'll see these teething issues across all the marques I suspect as they tread deeper into the EV space. Ford's choice of using OTA updates is a big plus here, as the car can be fixed in the driveway.

Having driven a Mach-e a couple of times now, it's a very nice vehicle that Ford seems to have done well on the fit-and-finish, materials selection and trimmings. It's definitely nicer than the Model 3 and Model Y inside, but at the expense of range and their software is not as mature yet. I expect they are still partnered with Microsoft, so they have access to better resources in this space than some of their competitors (excluding Tesla).

I've entertained the idea of buying a Mach-e a few times now (the one I've test driven) but the idea of the GT has prevented me from doing so. I'm fine doing a bit of beta testing on the software as long as the rest of the car is solid.
