My wife wanted kids to experience Disney so we flew down ($300 total. family 5 on frontier)

I rented a 2019 Malibu with the maligned by bitog Auto start/stop and apparently CVT. The car was pretty comfortable for 5.

Interior: GM has really improved but cloth on dash?, cheap feeling plastic steering wheel, and idiotic coin holder hard to reach for driver.

* Pros: Apple play for on dash good maps
* Powerful AC(90F + humid)

The CVT was not noticeable, the 1.5L engine totally fine and auto start stop just worked.

It delivered 26MPG in our typical 15 min drives in mixed driving.

GM did a nice job for a fleet car. As a consumer car not sure I would be interested unless slightly used and low price.

Not bad mileage for in 5 in the car. I like the looks of the Malibu. Thanks for the post.

I had to look at the CVT - wow I did not know they put a CVT in it. I had I think an '18 LT for a rental previously and back then the 1.5T was mated to a traditional automatic. Hopefully the CVT helped liven up the 1.5T as the one I had was not painfully slow but just mehhh, thankfully the engine was pretty smooth and refined for a 4 banger because normal shift points were 4-4.5k RPM.

Good quick review!

The Cvt, doesn't bother me (drove a 19 as well), But I hate the stop/start on my 19 Nox......

I have a 2018 Ford Fusion 1.5 Turbo GDI with start and stop on it. I am not to happy with the stop and start system but at least ford put a cut off switch on the car for that feature.

$170 for week of car I picked it! in row of "full size". I wanted to try Ford Fusion Hybrid but what an absolute fail of car in terms of trunk with an odd shelf(battery???). Could not take a full size suitcase and larger stroller. Fail

i had a 16 that was hands down , i feel the best car i have ever driven, mine was a little rocket, and awsome on gas , could always easilt get over 40 on any trip over an hour with the 1.5 6 speed ,traded for a deep discounted with rebates and gm card poinyts 2021 last year febuary , with the ctv, the ctv never stops slipping , i wont own it past 60000 , the 2016 was more of a car than the 2021 would ever dream of being
