Hi all,

Need to replace my sons rear rotors and pads in the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe (2.4L.) Do I need to do anything with the parking brake? They have to be in "maintenance" mode or something? Youtube seems to be all over the place on it. Anyone have any idea what I need to do? I definitely don't want to damage anything.

Thanks!

Update: In case anyone else is looking for the same information, it was pretty easy. Make sure E brake is disengaged and engine off. Unplug the motor wire. Take out the two Torx screws on housing and separate it. Turn the center screw clockwise until it stops. This retracts the internal screw. Then, slowly press the piston back in. Reassemble in reverse order.

Worked great.

My son bought a Raybestos kit (rotors and ceramic pads/hardware) on RockAuto. I know people have had issues with them in past (rust belt), but here in South Carolina, we should be okay. They looked well built and worked great. I’ll keep an eye on them and report back any issues.
