2018 Taurus 5w20 RGT

Got my 25k oil change done. Analysis looks good. Getting board with RGT. I do have some 10w30 Castrol Magnatec I may try next summer. Used another champion filter with 0w20 RGT
8.6 cSt for a 5W20 after 5200 miles seems impressive. Which oil was used on the previous two reports?

All have been RGT either 0w20 or 5w20. It's a good oil however I don't think it was intended for extended oil changes.
Aye. 5-6k seems to be the sweet spot with 7k being about the max as far as TBN.

Good report.

IlSAC Lubricants have been OLM or factory recommended interval and some of those are 1X year or 10K miles max.
I don't think I would go that distance, unless If you are driving over 2K highway miles per month on a P.I engine.

Well I did 7800 miles on the previous change and Blackstone suggested I don't go any farther. So I just keep it at 5k.

I wonder what the viscosity starts at? Most 20 grade oils with 5000 miles on them have thinned down <7 cSt. I wonder how much of that is the oil and how much is the vehicle just being easy on the oil.

Thanks ! I was hoping for the R.G.T. 5w-20 . Looks good , seems like it could go 7,500 miles . Just put this in the '18 Accent ( 1.6 Ltr. , G.D.I. ) for the next 6 or 7 months . Is this the S.N.+ , GF-5 ?

Here's ta few V.O.A.s' for R.G.T. 5w-20 ( S.N.+ , GF-5 ) for comparison to the U.O.A..

Well, you know ts all on how the car is used and fuel quality and state of tune and ... state of mind.
Well, maybe NOT the last one.
My wife cranking on the highway 2000 miles a month commuting form NH to Mass had no problem going 9K miles
in her little overworked subaru crosstrek 2 litre on Castrol Magnatec or Valvoline Advanced. No top off. I have 2 UOA posted here some where. The TGT is a similar formulation to the Advanced. but likely differing base stocks.

The 3.5L Cyclone is a good low-wear engine. Averaging at or less than 2ppm/1k miles is totally normal.

You could easily go 10k miles on about any lube in this engine series.

I'll post up my 3.5L UOA when I get enough miles on it for the next change.
