Hi Vorlauf. I was thinking a couple of the WearCheck fanboys would see the question. I’m assuming the “method” is Gas Chromotography (GC), but that doesn’t mean the standard is the same as Oil Analysers’. Not saying OA’s is the best, more just trying to determine if the results are directly comparable. The good news is you aren’t using Blackstone (maybe quite good except for their fuel dilution methodology / accuracy). I too will be interested how much (if any) your current 0w30 fill will thin with use. What viscosity does Honda say to use (would also be interesting if the US version states different oil than the JDM version)?

Gotcha. My US user manual for my Civic recommends 5w20 all climates in the D17A2 motor that came with the car. The JDM D17A in it now was used in a couple different vehicles & found out through Honda a while back that the factory fill for that engine was 5w30 in Japan, but the suitable viscosity range was any 20-50 grade with winter ratings depending on temp. According to Overkill's results with the Supercar, I don't expect viscosity to drop much, if at all.

Not sure that I follow... Are you serious, or making a remark about kirkland signature? I only ask because my title for this thread was edited by a mod, & didn't know until I saw the change, but don't think they would mess with my signature. I only come here on my phone, & my signature looks to be accurate for oil & filters used in both vehicles. Maybe there's more to it that I'm not seeing on the mobile version? If it was just a sarcastic remark, I've always questioned mockery. Never found the need for it.
The secondary Kirkland remark was intended for member Jetman's Signature. His Signature is filled with some impressive oils.
My reply should have looked like......

Awesome report! (intended for you)

Jetman! How did that word ' Kirkland' get in your Signature....lol

Any link to HPL's Oil Analysis service? I can't seem to come up with anything.
I didn't see it on their website, so I emailed [email protected] asking if they had oil analysis kits for sale. They are $35 through HPL, which is what I did, but you could probably order through WearCheck as well. I don't know if they are any cheaper to order directly from WearCheck. This is WearCheck's website if that's what you were looking for. https://wearcheck.com/?gad_source=1...JRcVyhd1PpxE_CcgFHxEz_1sV0DlcOCBoC0fAQAvD_BwE

They're $50 each directly from wearcheck + UPS shipping.
