2017 VW Tiguan burnt or cracked valve common??

Personally I’d say have them put a new water pump, oil separator(PCV), and plugs/coils while the heads off and then drive it.

I know people like to hate on the CCTA/CBFA’s but honestly if you maintain them (5k OCIs) and don’t abuse them they are solid and the issues are so fixable.

I have done the coils, plugs, and “PCV” so those services are up to date. Unfortunately I didn’t think of them doing the water pump while in there.

Thank you. It was stressful. These aftermarket warranty companies can be difficult to deal with. The dealer did go to bat for her surprisingly. Next question is does she keep the car or buy something else?
With the heads off, did everything else look ok? I don't know much about these VWs. Not sure what the transmission is like.

I'd always vote for a Toyota. Can get a used RAV4 pretty easily that will go 300k plus easily, especially with your oversight on the maintenance.
