2017 Jeep Grand cherokee V6 wont start with key fob

Question about alternators for this vehicle. I see online on websites like AutoZone, O'Reilys and Advanced all mention specific alternators for the vehicle with start/stop options. ALl those alternators are $500+ dollars. Amazon have alternators that are for my vehicle but nothing mentioned about start/stop and they are $150. What is the difference?
likely nothing wrong with your alternator or the car wouldnt start period.

the little battery under the seat going bad is common. Its likely the reason your start/stop has been disabled
It might be time for the regular engine battery too at this point.

after they are replaced just drive it normal for a couple days so the car can figure it out..
"stuff" wont instantly start working.

The main battery is 07/2021, I could not find a tag on the small battery but I would assume its around the same time frame. Would batteries really go bad that quick?

Was it aftermarket or another MOPAR batt? The MOPARs seem to last three years

Is the low fuel light on by any chance? There are few conditions where the remote start will not work and low fuel light is one of them.
On my grand caravan, if it fails to remote start like this, there is usually a message on the dash why. I think the key need to be in the ACC position for this.

No fuel light. It was 3/4 in the tank. I put my auxiliary battery on the charger and it showed bad battery. I'll be getting a new auxiliary battery tomorrow and see if that solves the problem.

The little battery and big battery should be replaced together. They run in parallel except at the stop light when the engine is off. An older, weaker battery will continually trickle-drain the stronger battery when the vehicle is off, contributing to accelerated wear.

Note, there’s plenty of info out there about disabling the aux battery system and in general it works, but the vehicles can get a little weird coming off an auto-start condition without the aux battery. The infotainment system can get confused, things like that.

If it’s a 17 on the original aux battery, it doesn’t owe anyone anything, time to seek a fresh quality replacement.

I replace starting batteries @ 3-5 yrs old regardless of condition. Family has 2022 Renegade (built 12/2021) 4,090 miles and battery dying, parking brake stuck on, overheat codes (25F outside). New battery, car back to normal. Hats off to others getting more years but I prefer not to be stranded.

Which brings me to ask a question regarding this matter. Is there a code reader that is capable of clearing a code without having it return?
A code reader or scanner of any type cannot clear a code and permanently not have it come back. If there is a problem, a code will immediately come back if it's a hard fault or will come back eventually depending on what the code setting criteria is.

I replaced auxiliary battery and main battery was charged fully and tested with no issues. All problems went away and I got my start/stop back, which I'm not very happy about because I keep forgetting to turn it off.

The path of least resistance on my mom's '18 KL was simply the Autostop Eliminator. She loves it because she grew up driving cars of the '60s and it makes her nervous if her vehicle just shuts down
