2017 Ford Raptor

This weekend I was riding in a lifted Jeep JK (2014) that was driving through 3' deep water playing ice breaker with 4 inch thick ice. After that the owner bounced it over some rocks and ended up jumping it. No broken frame.

The regular F150 can put up with abuse. They just had to weaken the frame a bit on the Raptor and it's not working that well.

I'm certainly not the Raptor's target audience, but I certainly understand the appeal of a big truck with a throaty V-8 exhaust tone.

Ford has removed the throaty V-8 exhaust tone (and they've even removed the V-8).

I now find myself in the camp of not being their target audience AND not quite understanding the appeal of it.

I thought the reason people were breaking Raptor frames was because they weren't being careful enough at high speeds, hitting bumps far faster than is reasonable for most off road vehicles.

Are people breaking them even at low speeds?

If you push anything hard your going to break stuff, racers blow threw parts like they are candy.

Those idiots in the videos must have thought they bought a Baja space framed full race prepped truck.


I guess if your an idiot you to will think your lifted F150 with a lot of great marketing behind it is the same as this thing!

Can I get mine with a diesel engine, dual stacks (nay! triple stacks!!!), rollin' coal bro tune, numerous decals (Oakley, Mossy Oak, Browning Buck Mark logo, and a couple go fast stickers) 10" of suspension lift with 38" thorn birds, some ***** chrome rims from discount tire, luxury heated leather interior with navigation along with 47 speaker Bose sound system and 42 KC lights on it? I like to turn my bro trucks up to 11 when I throw down.

They make throaty exhaust sounds over the radio in some cars, right? Why not toss some speakers under the car too?

You have to blast Jason Aldean!

I have never seen so many bro trucks in one place as I did when I went to the State Fair when they had Jason aldean. All these guys in their shiny trucks that are exactly as you describe above were "mudding" in the grass parking lot. Meanwhile, I just idle on by in my dirty old Jeep that has done more off roading, towing and hauling than any of those trucks ever will.

Is it just me who is really starting to hate being force fed this turbo V6? The big rumbling V8 has always been the shining glory of any full sized vehicles like this.
If I had the money to buy one then I probably would run out and buy one if it had a V8. I would not only avoid buying it but completely ignore it as an option with a turbo V6.
