That describes most every 4 cylinder ever installed in a cheap economy car, in my opinion.

Yup. Nailed it.

I dunno.
Our old Civics were pretty cheap new but always sounded good all the way to redline.
They had power peaks at or near redline as well and our '76 CVCC 1500 was geared so short that you could exceed redline in top (fourth) gear.
Some engines just sound better mechanically than others. Many cheap V-6s seem a lot worse than any good inline four.

Do you know that Enterprise has a data logger installed in the vehicle and your rental agreement in the small letters allow them to look at the content of that data and do automatic billing to you the credit card listed on it for any violations?

You should have read the contract carefully ~

Car only had 45 miles when i got it. New car smell and everything. Came with the NA 1.8L ecotec with the 6 speed trans. Car has some get up and go from a stop, but if u are trying to pass on the highway ur dropping down at least 2 gears and pushing 5k plus rpm's. No real storage and only the drivers side chair has an arm rest. No rear leg room at all. Transmission gears are way 2 small. Ur in 6th gear by 35mph and in second gear by 7mph. Doing 80 on the highway with the radio up u can her the engine screaming at 3k rpm's. Anything over 60mph u can hear the engine in the cabin. I did get the car up 2 105mph at WOT at 6.5k rpm's and tht was scary.

80 mph at 3000 rpm is actually very tall for a 1.8... that's probably why you topped out at only 105 mph at redline in a few gears lower.

Surprised there was no comments about the hard plastics on the dash.
